John V. Carberry
President
Mr. Carberry received his B.A. in English literature from Fairfield University and an M.B.A. in finance from the Harvard Business School. Before joining F.L.Putnam, he spent 25 years with Salomon Brothers where he was a managing director in charge of the Atlanta and Boston institutional client offices. From 1998 through 2000, he was a trustee of the Liberty Funds Group and chairman of the board of trustees of the Liberty All-Star Funds. He was a trustee and vice chairman of the board of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he is currently an overseer. Mr. Carberry is also a corporator of the Partners    Healthcare System, among other charitable organizations.


Susanne Stauffer
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager
Ms. Stauffer received a B.A. from Boston University, where she also participated in the university's master of business administration program. Ms. Stauffer has over twenty-five years' experience in managing portfolios for individuals and institutions. She also served for nine years as vice president of the Advest Advantage Investment Trusts (mutual funds) and as portfolio manager of the Advest Advantage Income Fund. Ms. Stauffer is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. She currently serves as a governing board and/or finance committee member for several non-profit educational and healthcare institutions.


Robertson P. Breed, CFA
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Breed, a CFA® charterholder, received his B.A. in economics from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Selected for the prestigious E.F.Hutton Principal Training Program, he gained a broad range of experience in equity, debt, and derivative securities. Mr. Breed is a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society, and a founding board member and Public Awareness Chair of the Maine CFA Society. Among other community involvements, he currently serves on the investment committee for Maine Initiatives and the finance council and investment committee for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.


Steven N. Violin, CFA
Vice President, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Violin received his A.B. with honors in mathematical economics from Colgate University, where his work in the economics of deforestation earned him the J. Melbourne Shortliffe Prize. Mr. Violin also holds a master of science in investment management from Boston University's Graduate School of Management, where he graduated with high honors as valedictorian of his class. Mr. Violin is also a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society. Among other charitable activities, he volunteers as a church youth group advisor and normally spends a week each year on a service mission with the youth group; this includes working in soup kitchens, building homes through Habitat for Humanity, and other community service projects.

 

David J. Shaughnessy, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Mr. Shaughnessy, a CFA ® charterholder, received his B.A. in economics from the University of Massachusetts. He is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. program of the Olin Graduate School of Management at Babson College.  Before joining F.L.Putnam he was an analyst for the investment office overseeing the endowment of Bowdoin College.  He formerly held the position of vice president and portfolio specialist with Wellington Management Company in Boston and also served as a consultant at Ibbotson Associates in Chicago.

 

Christian D. McVey
Senior Vice President, Marketing
Mr. McVey received his B.A. in political science from Vassar College. Before joining F.L.Putnam, he was the director of marketing at the investment advisory affiliate of one of Boston's oldest and most respected law firms. He has over 23 years of investment industry experience encompassing sales, portfolio management and client service. He formerly held the position of vice president at Anchor/Russell Capital Advisors. Mr. McVey is active in several non-profit organizations including service as a member of the development advisory board of Community Action, Inc.


Wendy M. Bush
Vice President, Development
Ms. Bush received her B.A. in mathematics from Wellesley College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Before joining F.L.Putnam, she worked with One Hundred Westminster Street, the trust/private banking division of Fleet National Bank in Providence, RI. Ms. Bush continues her long history of community service as a trustee to Mercy Hospital in Portland. She also serves on the investment committee of Catholic Health East in Philadelphia, PA, and is a trustee of the Cumberland County YMCA and the Portland Public Library.


Andrew B. Wetzel, CFA
Research Analyst
Mr. Wetzel received his B.S. in business administration with a major in finance from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and his master of science in investment management from Boston University's Graduate School of Management. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. Mr. Wetzel is also a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Research Analyst
Mr. Taylor received a B.A. in history from St. Bonaventure University and a master of science in investment management from Boston University's Graduate School of Management. He has over twelve years' experience in the securities industry, previously holding positions in equity and fixed income trading. Mr. Taylor is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
